These were images that did not make the final cut by Mary Ellen. These were chosen during my daily critique with her, made into work prints, and part of the work presented to the other students on the final day.
This one shot below was my favorite. I knew it when I exposed the film.

This one below has the strongest Mary Ellen Mark feel to me, only because the image contains the most stubborn stern look on a child’s face. He did not even for a fraction of a second break

This one below is maybe too spot on, too direct and too simple in tone, but I like it regardless.
It was a fine fine afternoon to pick zucchini flowers in the mountains with this woman.
